The third edition of the Squid Craft Games, a Minecraft event inspired by the hit series “Squid Game” created by South Korean director and screenwriter Hwang Dong-hyuk and premiered on Netflix in 2021, took place just over a year after its second season, from November 12 to November 17, 2024.
Over six days of a renewed competition filled with new challenges and trials, SCG matched the record set by its previous edition, making it the event with the most participating content creators ever produced by Eufonia Studio. A total of 200 invited creators competed for victory.
Just like in the second season, the competition featured both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking players simultaneously, with voices and rules available in both languages through a custom localization system developed specifically for the event.
As in previous editions, it was a Twitch Rivals event with a $100,000 prize for the winner. Once again, the main faces of the project were Auronplay, Rubius and Komanche.
This time, SCG peaked at 1.2 million concurrent viewers, with an average audience exceeding 883,000 viewers and over 25 million hours watched in just 20 hours of airtime. This made it the most-watched digital event of the year.
The 12 challenges of the Squid Craft Games were set in Antarctica, featuring entirely original games with ice and snow themes.
Perxitaa reached the grand finale with a peak of 141,660 viewers, surpassing his personal record. Meanwhile, SoyPan, the winner, reached 274,597 viewers. The prize, as in the first edition, was $100,000.
Squid Craft Games 3 was a much larger production than previous editions. Eufonia Studio brought together a team of more than 50 developers, artists, and collaborators who worked on the project for over six months to achieve its final result.
